Restaurants – Bars in CHICAGO, Illinois. North Pond, with its idyllic location on the edge of a pond overlooking the striking Chicago cityscape, is in the center of Lincoln Park. The building that houses North Pond was originally constructed in 1912 as a warming station for ice skaters and has since been renovated in the Arts and Crafts style. The culinary aesthetic of North Pond is likewise influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. Chef César Murillo and Pastry Chef Laura Thomasson use great ingredients at the peak of their season, getting their ideas from the neighborhood market. North Pond approaches the food it produces in the kitchen with consideration and regard for the small, regional farmers, growers, and producers. Our cuisine is a reflection of this, with a direct journey from the land to the plate.
